Fundamentals or basics to:
(1) Classify flows: steady; unsteady; uniform & non-uniform
(2) Design channel sections
(3) Evaluate flow conditions: sub- and super-critical, critical
(4) Water surface profiles analysis: backwater & drawdown

Approach / Initial momentum
(1) Start with simplest conditions (e.g. uniform flow)
(2) Use peak or max. flow (its determination is done in the 3rd or 4th year) with uniform flow
(3) Rectangular cross-section of the channel before other sections

Mode of Delivery per Week
(1) 2 hours Lecture + 1 hour Tutorial
(2) Practical are covered under WR 213 (New curriculum)
