The business world is undergoing numerous changes related to or brought about by the revolutions in information technologies. Obviously, information has become an important element in firms/corporate strategies hence information systems. Developing systems, access to and use of information, securing the hardware, software and human ware alongside managing the entire system while delivering the expected value to customers, stakeholders and the entire community is pertinent in today’s business. Therefore, organization needs to properly manage their systems for their success and sustainability. Business and organization experts must be equipped enough to unleash the potential offered by information systems, while reducing risks associated with systems failure, and unavailability while ensuring privacy among others. Business continuity and disaster recovery plans are all part of a big picture. This course therefore is designed to provide students with a basic understanding of how Information Systems are used in organizations for meeting strategic and operational goals.
